Faculty of Art and Design

Foreword by the Dean

Design journey into the 21st century

Since the very beginnings in 2006, the Faculty of Art and Design’s study program was based on the most recent design methodologies: Design Thinking and innovative problem solving, application of the design process, interdisciplinarity, conceptuality and inclusive practices. The numerous collaborations and projects with prominent organisations such as MATA, British Council, Helen Hamlin design center London, Fashion Weekend Skopje, Dutch Embassy, British Embassy, Institut Français, National Gallery of Macedonia, Museum of Macedonia, City Museum of Skopje, Public Room, Design Austria, Textile Cluster, DLUM, Osten Gallery, Plakart, as well as the companies from the business sector, are a proof of the Faculty’s students and staff’s work quality, the creative energy and the desire for positive social impact. The graduates enrich the design scene in Macedonia as a new critical mass, which nurtures the artistic and intellectual impulses in design, and which contributes to the development of new businesses and new Macedonian brands. That is the way by which the power of design is demonstrated, as design has already imposed itself as a key ingredient for cultural and economical prosperity in the 21st century.
