History of the European University

This current 2019 marks the age of maturity for the European University – Republic of Macedonia, Skopje – 18 years of development, productivity, creativity, and quality.

A Path of Quality and Creativity

We highlight several crucial points in its history: its beginning was marked with the founding of the MM-College that started operating on the 30th January, 2002 as the first international college for distance learning.

The development continues in 2003 with the Foundation MACEDONIA and the MM COLLEGE, as founders of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FON) Skopje, with three study programmes in European Law and European Union, Diplomacy and International Politics, and Banking Marketing, as evidenced by the Decision of the Accreditation Board issued on 22nd April, 2003.

The European University - Republic of Macedonia, a successor of the Faculty of Social Sciences started a project for establishing five faculties: Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Faculty of Applied Foreign Languages, Faculty of Informatics and Faculty for Asset and Property Protection. It was founded following the Decision of the Accreditation Board issued on 3rd June, 2005

The development of the European University continues in 2006 with the setting up of five new faculties within the EURM: Faculty of Public Administration, Faculty of Communication Studies, Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty of Environmental Management and Faculty of Political Science and International Relations.

On 6th March, 2007 the European University - Republic of Macedonia was divided into two entities, one of which is the First Private University - EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY - RM. The EU-RM incorporated the following faculties: Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Informatics, Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty of Political Science (transformed from the Faculty of Communications and Media), Faculty of Law (transformed from the Faculty of Public Administration).

In 2008, the first cycle of studies of the newly established Faculty of Detectives and Criminology were accredited, increasing the number of faculties to six.

In 2011, with a Decision of the Accreditation Board, the 7th faculty within EU-RM, the Faculty of Dentistry started operating (Accreditation Decision of 28th March, 2011).

In the past period at the EURM educational work is carried out by seven faculties with prepared system projects for faculties of medical sciences, pharmacy, physical therapy and rehabilitation.
