Faculty of Informatics - Introduction / Mission
The Faculty of Informatics as part of the European University - has been accredited in June 2005. The Faculty of Informatics provides education in the field of information technologies at the undergraduate and graduate levels of studies in the field of Software Engineering, covering several areas: programming, databases, web design and multimedia, computer networks and communications.
The mission of the Faculty is to create experts who will be able to respond to the needs of the society in this area, as well as individuals capable of following the further dynamic development of the relevant information technology. We achieve this by our modern curricula - in accordance with the highest European standards, with state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms and amphitheaters, including distance learning systems and other teaching aids, which enable the maintenance of quality theoretical and practical teaching. Also - quality teachers and assistants take everyday care for the students and their success in studying. The quality of studying is stimulated by the holding of competitions and seminars in the field of programming and application software, as well as - publication of good seminar papers or parts of the diploma works - in the Proceedings. Along with the theoretical curriculum - our Faculty in the cooperation with the business sector (big IT and telecom companies) looks for obligatory active student practice, so the students from the first cycle can get employment opportunities even during the studies, and proceed with a thriving career. The Faculty of Informatics organizes specialized workshops on different topics in the field of Informatics, which, besides the teaching staff of our Faculty and guests from other scientific institutions and the economy, our students are participating. The Faculty of Informatics Staff actively participates in many Tempus, COST and Erasmus+ projects.
The Faculty of Informatics at European University has a significant role in the spread of the general IT culture in the society, especially in the area of the application of modern digitized educational technologies. The activities of the Faculty of Informatics are implemented in accordance with the Law on Higher Education and the Faculty provides:
- Higher education, scientific and research activities;
- Cooperation with higher education institutions and IT companies from the country and abroad;
Undergraduate academic program - Software engineering
The Accreditation and Evaluation Board on the basis of the Report of the Expert Commission at its 11th meeting held on 31.05.2018, adopted a Decision accepting the Elaborate for organizing the study program of Software Engineering from the first cycle of studies at the Faculty of Informatics, European University - Republic of Macedonia Skopje no. 1409-233 / 2, dated 16.07.2018. link 1. The study program of Software Engineering according to these solutions lasts 4 years, i.e. 8 semesters. Upon completing the studies, the student acquires 240 ECTS with a title: a Graduated Computer Engineer.
